Social Media Use for Libraries
My heart belongs to both English and Library & Information Science and, particularly, the places those two intersect.
I am fascinated with the field of information literacy and how librarians and faculty can work together.
I am specifically interested in building, improving, and maintaining effective library and IL instruction.
I enjoy social media and using technology in the classroom in a meaningful way. I have used Twitter and wikis for in-class collaboration.
My greatest interest in English lies in children's literature. I believe it is valuable literature in its own right and should not be relegated to obscurity simply because of its intended audience.
Space and Place theory intrigues me, and I love pondering the ways setting, homes, and other spaces influence fiction. The two authors who have most influenced me in this area are Eudora Welty and Gaston Bachelard.
